I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Multitier Application Services
The concept of the multitier application services was born with the advent of remote OLE automation. Using this technology, it became possible to use remote procedure calls to access instances of components executing on another computer. The technique appeared seamless on the client application. It was as if the remote component were running locally. This ability allowed traditional two-tier client/server applications to include a middle tier that could contain business rules, act as a proxy to the database server, and provide other services.
