Understanding the Admin API

ColdFusion MX 7 introduced programmatic access to most ColdFusion Administrator functionality. The Administrator API (Admin API) is a set of ColdFusion Components (CFCs). These CFCs have methods that allow completion of Administrator tasks without accessing the ColdFusion Administrator (/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm). ColdFusion 8 extends the Admin API with additional administrator methods.
