Chapter 8. Making Local Image Adjustments

Just below the Histogram panel resides Lightroom 2’s new Tool Strip (Figure 8.1). With the exception of the Crop Overlay tool, the Tool Strip is used to apply local adjustments. These adjustments affect only certain parts of a photo, which you select. Clicking each of the five tools reveals a set of adjustments related to the particular tool. Considered the most exciting addition in Lightroom 2, these local adjustment tools finally give digital photographers an easy-to-use digital equivalent to the dodge and burn tools of chemical darkrooms.
