2. Breast cancer

Cancer is a leading cause of death and one of the largest public health issues worldwide. For decades, breast cancer has been the most common type of cancer in adult women. Breast cancer is one of the top five causes of cancer death around the world [1,7].

Furthermore, the incidence of breast cancer increases every year. The best way to treat cancer is by early detection. The earlier the lesion is identified, the easier and more efficient the treatment of the disease is. Many techniques such as mammography, thermography, ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, and clinical breast examination (Exame Clínico da Mama, ECM) are the standard indicated methods in mastology [10,37].
