Installing on Windows
First, you need to install Ruby. We recommend using the RubyInstaller for Windows package.[20] At the time of this writing, the latest version of Ruby available via RubyInstaller is Ruby 3.3.1. If you use RubyInstaller, be sure to pick a version that includes Devkit. If you use a different installer, make sure you install MSYS2 along with Ruby.
At this point, Windows Defender may intervene, as it doesn’t recognize the RubyInstaller package. If this happens, click the downloads folder icon to see a list of downloads. Find the download, and double-click it. You may see a screen that says, "Windows protected your PC." If so, click "More info" and then click "Run anyway."
