CHAPTER 6AIOps and Automation in Healthcare Operations
“Number 5 is alive.”
—Short Circuit
Once AIOps has been deployed and you are working with a fully operational tool, what more can it do for you? How do you really reap the return on investment (ROI) of a system that takes advantage of artificial intelligence (AI)? By setting up workflows, processes, and automation functionality within the toolset, you can begin to see how the AIOps system can really make an impact. Automation is the intelligence that a system will use to create actions based on the workflow set up and designed by process engineers. Once the system can “learn,” it can be used to create a workflow based on use case, scenarios, common outcomes, and more. To get the most benefit, you need to have a fully configured system (covered in Chapters 1–5) and other components such as a CMDB and trusted sources of data providing you with usable actions. In this chapter, we will look at all of the variables associated with automation, workflow engineering, process engineering, and getting AI and ML to work for you.
This chapter discusses how healthcare systems can utilize their AIOps platform in a way that reduces outages, increases service performance and availability, and improves overall system usage for clinical functions.
Automation, Workflow, Process, and Intelligence Design
When it comes to intelligent system design, there are many concepts that need to be considered prior to deployment. In this chapter, ...
