In this chapter there is a discussion of a couple of advanced routes of administration. The parenteral route of administration and the pulmonary route of administration seem simple but are very delicate, and very good current good manufacturing practice (cGMP), quality control (QC), and quality assurance (QA) are required. Parenteral routes require the dosage forms to be sterile; aerosol dosage forms do not need to be sterile unless in aqueous-based inhalers.
