Abstract

The local control approach to adjustment for treatment selection bias and confounding in observational studies is illustrated here using JMP because local control is best implemented and applied in highly visual ways. The local control approach is also unique because it hierarchically clusters patients in baseline covariate x-space; applies simple nested analysis of variance (ANOVA) models (treatment within cluster); and ends up being highly flexible, non-parametric, and robust. ...
