The alternative form factors described in this chapter provide exciting new platforms for developers and the kind of applications we can create. This is not simply a matter of coming up with apps for each platform, and it is perfectly possible to include all three device types within a single app.
Take the sandwich building app we looked at earlier; we could easily adapt it so that users could order a sandwich when they were watching a movie. Equally, we could send a notification of when their order was ready to their smart phone or auto console. In short, these devices open up the market for new apps and added functionality for existing ones.
