Installing and Configuring PHP

Before you can install and configure PHP to create Apache Derby applications, you must:

1.
Install and configure Apache Derby as described in Chapter 4, “Installing Apache Derby and IBM Cloudscape on Windows,” or Chapter 5, “Installing Apache Derby and IBM Cloudscape on Linux.”
2.
Start the Apache Derby Network Server as described in the install chapter.
3.
Install and configure the IBM DB2 Application Development Client to enable Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) access to Apache Derby databases as described in Chapter 10, “Developing Apache Derby Applications with Perl, PHP, Python, and ODBC.”
