So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

System startup certainly isn’t the most glamorous part of Lion, but it’s clearly important and technically quite impressive. Apple has improved startup and runtime processes with every revision of Mac OS X. When things work correctly, the startup process is often under 30 seconds. Obviously, users appreciate a quick startup, but most don’t and shouldn’t have to care what goes on during system startup because they expect their Macs to work properly.
