It is common in AppleScript to organize information of all kinds into lists or records. You’ve seen them several times already. For example, in Chapter 6, Information Tools, you used the list disks and list folders commands in the Standard Additions scripting addition, and you saw the file information record returned by the info for command, also in Standard Additions.

This chapter gives you an overview of operations you can perform with lists and records and demonstrates how they are used in practice.
