A transition provides a segue from one project item to another by using a short video clip. For example, it’s common practice to insert a fade between a menu button and the item it targets. When the viewer clicks the button, the DVD fades to black, and then the target item fades onto the screen. This provides a less jarring display than having the menu just pop offscreen when a button is activated.
