Troubleshooting Steps
In Lesson 3, “General Troubleshooting Theory,” you learned about the Apple General Troubleshooting Flowchart, which documents Apple's recommended troubleshooting steps. This section discusses each step in terms of network troubleshooting. You might want to print the flowchart (available on the book's companion CD) to have it handy as you work through the following customer scenario:
“I keep getting a 'server not found' error when I try to view webpages. I'm running Safari on my Power Mac G5. The computer is hooked up to a DSL modem.”
