11. Analytics Competencies and Ecosystem

To establish an analytics function, there are several prerequisites. Apart from the obvious requirements for rich and reliable data and analytics tools (discussed in Chapters 3 and 4), some softer requirements are also important. Just as you can have the best ingredients and kitchen gadgets, there will be no restaurant without the right chef and a smoothly running kitchen. The critical factors for the analytics team to function properly and be successful are the analytics competencies and a supportive ecosystem.
