The DataListView control is an effective tool for displaying a snapshot of data cached on the client. An ASP.NET page that makes use of the DataListView control differs in some respects from any other ordinary data-bound ASP.NET page. First and foremost, using the DataListView control or similar controls in a Web application requires a rich client such as Internet Explorer and requires that the .NET Framework is installed on the client.
