Introduction
Architectural drawing combines individual expression and convention in the communication of ideas and information. The first chapter, Media, described how drawing techniques could be explored in order to resonate with design approaches, or reflect, in the way they were drawn, the kind of project or idea that was being described. It emphasized the use of mixed media, and integrating hand and digital techniques, as a means of expressing diversity in the design process. This chapter will explore drawing types, arguing that, in the same way that a project may lend itself to a particular drawing technique, architectural ideas may be best expressed by emphasizing a particular drawing type.
