Chapter 13. Alternate Control
Although hobby-type R/C radios are easily found, relatively cheap, and have excellent range (at up to a mile or so in clear view), they might not always provide the type of control that you want on your robot. Many modern robots are controlled by computers, which typically use a Serial connection to send multiple commands at once. Some can afford to be connected to a computer using a wire, whereas others will require a wireless link with reasonable speed and range.
