Abstract
Purpose: This chapter aims to provide a comprehensive picture of the adoption of ChatGPT in academia, primarily focusing on the dark side of this emerging technology. This confession on ChatGPT relates to the four major stakeholders in academia: learners, teachers, researchers, and libraries.
