It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Making the Most of Dimensions
In this chapter, you will learn how to place and modify various dimension types and styles to improve efficiency using these tools. You will also learn how to control appearance, standards, and settings when using the dimension tools. Once you have learned how to place dimensions more quickly, you must also learn how to modify these dimension objects to control their appearance and relationships with other objects in the drawing.
