Almost every aspect of stage lighting has been improved over the last several years, including power supplies, optics, processing, and control. But none of these components has undergone as much change or advanced quite as quickly as light sources. There has been rapid and steady improvement in LED technology and in metal halide lamp sources, which has led to the almost total abandonment of tungsten light sources in new stage lighting.
