Abstract
In the recent era there has been widespread development of Internet of Things (IoT) applications like smart cities and smart homes. Within this there are different security attacks and threats at different layers of IoT-used devices and structures that may impact smart city and smart homes performance. For assessing the security of IoT-based frameworks and gadgets used in smart cities and smart homes it is becoming vital to utilize the right control measures. Along with these, security is the main fundamental issue that relies on the IoT devices. This paper provides an outline of security threats and preventive measures in smart cities and smart homes.
