So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In the previous chapter, you learned how to set up your networking using VPC, which acts as your own data center in the cloud. Once you have a networking component ready, the next step is to create virtual machines, also known as instances in AWS terminology, where you will host your code.
AWS EC2 is one of the most well-known components of the AWS cloud and provides scalable compute capacity in the cloud. It eliminates the need to invest upfront in hardware so that you can develop and deploy your application faster in the cloud.
