The Basel III Global Regulatory Framework for More Resilient Banks and Banking Systems

After the 2007–2009 global banking crisis, the Basel Committee of Banking Supervision (BCBS)1 proceeded to revise the Basel II Accord with a more stringent regulation on capital and a new regulation on liquidity. In this chapter, we present a critical review of the new regulations.
