Sometimes the default XML shape for JWS messages is not quite what your application needs. You might need to interact with another system that expects the data in a particular form, or you might want to return a specific subset of some data (for instance, only certain fields of a Java object). In these cases, you must tell WebLogic Workshop the format of the XML you want to use. You define the XML format using an XML map, which is basically the XML you expect with annotations showing where the incoming data is located or where the outgoing response should be placed.
