The web is, of course, a visual medium, so you are going to want to add images to your designs to make them visually compelling and add interest for your users. In this chapter, we will examine the file types that you can use on websites. We will also look at how to import images into a design and look at how those images can be scaled and rotated. We will also explore the SVG file format, which is a type of image that can be edited directly in XD.

The web currently supports four file types for images: JPEG, GIF, PNG, and SVG.
