Azure Synapse Analytics is architecturally different than a traditional or modern data warehouse platform. It is a data lakehouse; hence, there are many architectural components that are different or new compared to a data warehouse. As discussed in previous chapters, Azure Synapse Analytics is a comprehensive data analytics platform that includes many tools and technologies.
