The human body is an incredible interface for the world around us. Our modes of sensing phenomena like light, wind, waves, and heat give us information that helps us to perceive, interact with, and understand other living creatures and nonliving objects.

In a similar way, most electronics need “senses,” or sensors, to interact with the world. So far, we’ve mostly worked with output devices like lights, motors, and buzzers. The input devices that we’ve worked with include pushbuttons and switches.
