To state the obvious, fixing problems is the part of the database administrator's job that takes precedence over everything else. In his best-selling book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey explains that our activities can be divided among four quadrants depending on their urgency and importance. Figure 11-1 illustrates these quadrants.
