2. Setting Up Your Development Environment

Now that the introductions are done, it is time to roll up your sleeves and prepare to get your hands dirty. You’re going to need somewhere to do all your work, so let’s sign up for one of those free Developer instances we discussed in Chapter 1. To sign up for a dev org (the shorthand name for a Developer instance), head on over to https://developer.salesforce.com/signup and fill out the following short form seen in Figure 2-1.
