Tapping your Human Potential
The first step, therefore, is for you to become aware of your real potential, as a unique person in all aspects and dimensions of your self, and then to enhance the same. An outline of these parameters is given in table 3.1.
While, for instance, in your normal life you do not need to discriminate between eight million shades of colors or between 300,000 different tones, the information given in table 3.1 indicates the range of potential to which you have access. In other words, you need not continue to harbor the belief, and the consequent fear, of experiencing stagnation in your competencies or capacities.
Beyond categories: the “seed” principle
Several models of “human classifications” or “personality types” are prevalent today, a few of which are illustrated in table 3.2.
All of these, and other classifications or categories, can be very useful in making us aware of our predominant characteristics or orientations. Unfortunately, however, with such “typing” we are frequently left with a feeling that we are in one mold, or category, and have to live with it.
