What is this practice and how effective is it?

Outsourcing and offshoring have expanded over recent years as companies hand over individual processes or even whole departments to third-party service providers that have high-levels of expertise in performing certain tasks. But there are many hidden traps, the level of dissatisfaction is high and rising, and some organizations are now reversing the trend. There is much confusion over the merits of outsourcing. We will examine these issues and suggest how organizations can deal with them.
