Introduction
This book examines the impact of the technological phenomenon ‘big data’ on national security intelligence and decision-making. Data is all around us. Big data has become a prevalent feature in commercial enterprise (Cukier 2010; Manyika et al. 2011; Reinsel, Gantz & Rydning 2017; Yiu 2012) from shopping to socials, travel to transport and communications to finance.
