Chapter 6. BaaS Use Cases

Successful SaaS with blockchain often involves a BaaS under the covers for managing the blockchain features. BaaS helps projects scale quickly, going from limited prototypes to full-scale production systems. In a successful, growing blockchain network that tracks an increasing number of assets, the ability to scale is critical. In this chapter, we’ll see how this is being done by examining a selection of BaaS use cases.

BaaS in Action

The five use cases presented in this chapter demonstrate how business-as-usual is changing in diamond trading, international shipping, onboarding of suppliers, verification of identification, and video game distribution. To help with analyzing these cases, I’ve identified the participants, assets, and transactions involved in each (as explained in Chapter 3). I hope these great ideas inspire you!
