CHAPTER 4 DESCRIBED HOW TO CREATE AN experimental clock circuit that is capable of flashing a single LED on and off using a 555 timer. If you completed that project (project 3) and experimented with various resistor and capacitor values, you understand how you can modify the flashing sequence by altering these three component values. In the project in this chapter, you are going to use the astable circuitry from project 3 to create a flashing LED circuit that you can mount on your bicycle for use as a visual warning device or as illumination in the dark. An example of the completed project is shown in Figure 5-1.
