So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Appendix. Environment setup
A.1 Installing Go
Installing a version of Go is as easy as downloading it and untarring it. The latest version can be downloaded from https://go.dev/doc/install.
The Go language spec is currently at version 1. In general, “programs written to the Go 1 specification will continue to compile and run correctly, unchanged, over the lifetime of that specification” (https://tip.golang.org/doc/go1compat). This means that any version of Go should work.
The code in this book has been tested with the following versions:
