So far, we’ve learned how to write easy-to-use, helpful command-line apps that interoperate well with other apps and systems. But in the previous chapter, we saw how subjective design decisions can be when we had to decide which output format of our to-do app would be the default. Choosing default values and behavior—as well as naming our commands, options, and arguments—is not as straightforward as using exit codes or sending output to the right place.
