I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Adding API to Kong
Kong provides an intuitive REST API to add a custom API to the gateway. In order to add the aformentioned healthcheck API, we need to make a POST request to the Kong admin API, which runs on port 8001. From now on we use the Postman REST client to show all API requests. These API requests are also available as a JSON file collection in the chapter's repository for readers to download and import in their Postman clients respectively.
