Chapter 1
There are four types of analytics: descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive. Descriptive analytics summarizes what happened in the past; diagnostic analytics explores their causes; predictive analytics forecasts future scenarios; and prescriptive analytics provides recommendations for action based on these insights.
