Ethernet Competition

Today, Ethernet has no significant competition as a wired LAN technology. When a network engineer builds a wired LAN, the technology choices revolve around which Ethernet products to use and the related Ethernet standards, supported cabling, maximum distances, and so on. The challenge is in choosing between competing Ethernet-based options.
