Configuring Cisco Express Forwarding

To enable MPLS, you must first enable Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF) switching.

Note

CEF switching is enabled by default on the following platforms:

• Cisco 7100 series router

• Cisco 7200 series router

• Cisco 7500 series Internet router

dCEF Switching is enabled by default on the following platforms:

• Cisco 6500 series router

• Cisco 12000 series Internet router
