Domain Loop Problems with More Than Two Routing Domains

With only two routing domains, the solutions seen so far—setting higher metrics and AD values—can deal with domain loop problems. However, with three or more routing domains, setting metrics and AD values does not always solve the domain loop problem. Specifically, problems can occur when three or more routing domains connect in sequence, as shown in Figure 10-16. Such a situation might exist in the real world where a large company has multiple mergers and acquisitions with smaller companies (running a variety of routing protocols).
