Infrastructure as Code

Introduction

When discussing Intersight, much of the conversation is naturally focused on the graphical user interface. The Intersight API, which is covered in depth in Chapter 11, “Programmability,” is another interface into Intersight and the linchpin for the capabilities of this cloud operations platform.

The Intersight API provides programmatic access to a model in which all the infrastructure resources in an organization’s environment can be codified into code. The process of modeling and managing both physical and virtual resources in code is known as infrastructure as code (IaC).
