Extensible Authentication Protocol over User Datagram Protocol (EAPoUDP) offers a flexible method to transport EAP information. EAPoUDP runs over IP, using UDP as a transport to allow the transmission and verification of posture credentials and host posture over any link-layer technology. The authenticator in this regard can be any network device capable of the protocol and need not be on the same link as the device seeking to attain authorized network service.
