Foreword
I met James (Jim) Tiller in 1999, at the time we worked for a large equipment manufacturer that had acquired our small consulting company. At that time, we were uniquely positioned in a vast and evolving marketplace as it related networks and the outdated concept that you needed brick and mortar to run a business. Our division was focused on planning, designing, implementing, and optimizing networks; companies wanted to grow and grow fast, and with that growth virtual walls of security went from an afterthought to a core fundamental in the age of the Internet.
Many parts of our industry have changed since then, but in reality security has not, at its fundamental roots, protected “my stuff” from the “bad guys” or even the “good guys.” ...
