Ohne diesen Schutz können Unternehmen und andere Organisationen in eine prekäre Lage geraten, was zu existenziellen Krisen führen kann, d. h. sie könnten aus dem Geschäft gedrängt werden. Das ist natürlich ein Worst-Case-Szenario, aber es ist durchaus möglich, insbesondere bei katastrophalen Vorfällen, wenn die Organisation nicht über die richtigen Notfallpläne verfügt. Warum erwähne ich das also? Weil Daten eine wichtige Ressource für jede Organisation sind. In den meisten Fällen sind sie grundlegend für den Betrieb eines Unternehmens, einer Behörde oder einer gemeinnützigen Organisation.
