About the Authors

Bryan Friedman is director of product management at Moderne, where he works on automated code transformation and agent tooling built on the open source OpenRewrite project. He has spent his career on software platforms and developer enablement, first in enterprise IT and application development, and then in developer relations and technical marketing, working with engineering and IT teams on how large organizations upgrade, migrate, and maintain code at scale. He is a frequent writer and speaker on code modernization and developer enablement.

Pat Johnson has spent her career bringing technically complex products to market for developers and operators. She’s director of product marketing at Moderne, which gives AI coding agents a deterministic foundation to write, refactor, and modernize code accurately at enterprise scale. Previously, she led portfolio marketing for VMware’s Tanzu platform and drove product marketing for CI/CD solutions at Pivotal and CA Technologies. Earlier in her career, she was a technical writer and marketer in the networking semiconductor space.
