6 The correlation between form and meaning

Every language develops and changes continuously, and there is no full correlation between form and meaning in all systems. The correlation between form and meaning in the various colloquial systems of Israeli Hebrew is generally discussed herein.

6.1 Form-meaning correlation in the verbal system

As mentioned, the Israeli Hebrew verbal system is a complex of five patterns, in which the basic pattern stems are combinations of roots and patterns, as explained in section 4.2 .
