Como referido no Capítulo 1, a gestão dos controladores envolve três etapas: descarregamento, configuração e manutenção. O gerenciamento manual de drivers é caro em termos de esforço e potencialmente problemático em relação à manutenção. Por esse motivo, eu uso o WebDriverManager para realizar esse processo de forma automatizada e mantida em todos os exemplos deste livro. Para completar, este apêndice também descreve os passos envolvidos (download, configuração e manutenção) na gestão manual de drivers.
WebDriverManager: Gestão automatizada de drivers
O WebDriverManager é uma biblioteca Java de código aberto que gere os controladores exigidos pelo Selenium WebDriver (por exemplo, chromedriver, geckodriver, msedgedriver, etc.) de forma automatizada. WebDriverManager fornece um conjunto de gestores para diferentes navegadores, nomeadamente Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Chromium e Internet Explorer.
O WebDriverManager executa internamente um algoritmo de resolução para gerenciar os drivers exigidos por cada navegador. Este algoritmo tem como objetivo descobrir, descarregar, configurar e manter automaticamente estes controladores.
A Figura B-1 representa este algoritmo no contexto da metodologia implementada pelo WebDriverManager. Para cada gestor (e.g., chromedriver(), firefoxdriver(), etc.), o algoritmo de resolução funciona da seguinte forma:
