Unique Control Panel Utilities
There are a number of Control Panel applets unique to Windows XP to be aware of. These include Add or Remove Programs, Network Connections, Printers and Faxes, Automatic Updates, and the Network Setup Wizard.
Add or Remove Programs
The Add Or Remove Programs applet (Start > Control Panel > Add Or Remove Programs) in Windows XP can be used, as the name implies, to add or delete programs. It can also be used to add and delete Windows components, to set program access and defaults, and to change programs (add or remove portions of them, for example).
When first opened, it (APPWIZ.CPL) shows the currently installed programs, as shown in Figure 16-24.
